Santa Rosalia park

Note the white cross on top of the mountain which is often found here in Mexico, usually at the highest place.

Eiffel Church interior

The camera did not pick up the colors of the beautiful stained glass windows over the altar. This church was built for the Paris Expo 1885 and moved to this French mining town and reassembled in 1895. It appears to need a bit of tlc after the hurricane but otherwise has stood here for over a century!

Marina Santa Rosalia

This manmade (by the French during copper mining days) took a terrible beating during hurricane Jimena last August.

Two headsails are better than one when sailing up the bay in the NW wind.

birds and clams and scallops

This island and waters nearby in Concepcion Bay is the home of pelicans, gulls, cormorants, clams and scallops - fish also!

passenger?

This little bird and his mate visited us often and sang his beautiful song. After 4 days we raised our sail and their little nest fell out - so sad!

clams found

Here are 4 kinds of clams which we had for lunch. We chopped the chocolates, added lime juice and put on crackers. The little cockles we steamed and dipped into hot butter and the others were chopped and put into evap milk with onions and potatoes for clam chowder. We picked all of thses off the bottom while snorkeling. Did not dig for any of them!

The water here is clear and 80 degrees. We found a few clams but many were lost during the hurricane, "Jimena", last August

Isla Coronados sunset

This is one of our favorite anchorages. It has a gorgeous white sand beach, good snorkeling, good protection from most directions and a nice mountain to climb (not for Nancy tho!)

San Juanico

This anchorage on Baja east coast is fine except when the swell is from the SW. Then it's VERY rolly especially if the wind is from the north!

El Burro Cove

This is a great place to anchor or have a palapa right on the beach. The water is nearly 80 degrees today!
